So you have all these goals you want to crush. Everyone says you need motivation and self-discipline. Maybe …..
But here is the thing , you have goals and are taught to have goals but how to you execute them ?
I’m going to share a few tips that I have learnt from mentors and some tweaks I have made to move me forward and crush my goals.
“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes.” —Andrew Carnegie
(Insert Rocky music here ….. you can totally hear it can’t you 🙂 Ok being serious now 🙂
First off ….. what are your goals ? dreams ? ….. You want to get healthier ? You want to lose 25 pounds ? You want to quit your full -time job and pursue your side gig for more time freedom ? ( If that goal interests you hit me up )or maybe you want to organize your house and closet. It doesn’t have to be this big gigantic goal either. Remember that. So that brings me to ….
Tip #1 : Your goals need to be measurable. For example it can’t be I want to lose weight….. You need to ask How much weight ? in what time period ? So maybe I would like to lose 20 pounds in 3 months time date May 1 /2019.
You than have to figure out how you are going to make that happen.
You need to have a plan in order to reach any goal.
Tip #2 : Brainstorm on how and what you need to do in order to accomplish that goal . So if we say we want to lose x pounds or x inches or fit into a size x in 2 months time, a game plan is needed. So some brainstorming ideas could be: workout x days a week. Meal prep on sundays. Grocery lists. Maybe you love potato chips. A plan to not have them is don’t buy them or bring them into your house. When could you work-out ? what workouts will I do ? home workouts ? gym ? ok when do I find the time to do this ?
Once you are done brainstorming. Figure out what will work best for you.
Tip #3 : Plan each day the night before. If you have a daily planner use that. If not no biggie. (Here is the planner I use ) In a journal write date for next day. Goal you have for 3 months time : write it out each day 🙂
Than 3 items that you will do the following day to get you closer to your goal. So back to the whole losing weight thing. Maybe its to workout for 20 minutes to a workout video at home at whatever time you had in mind. The other 2 could be 5 or 10 minute tasks. Maybe do some research on what foods to help reduce inflammation or meditate for 5-10 minutes
Tip #4 : Maybe I should of put this one back a little. But your goal has to be for you. Something that you know will get you out of your comfort zone and you get kinda scared in telling anyone what it is. But deep down you know you can crush it. Know you will probably fail if that goal isn’t something you want.
Why do you want to succeed at the goal you made ? (because like anything there will be days where things aren’t going as planned and you won’t want to do anything to chip away at that goal you made.
That brings me to tip #5: Visualization !!!! It is a proven method for achieving our goals. It taps into the subconscious mind which helps us create new ideas and programs our brain to realize what we need in order to achieve that goal.It creates motivation within you. As well the use of ‘laws of attraction’ drawing into your life what and who you need in order to achieve you goals. ( I’ve done this and it works, but you have to be consistent)
So maybe this might be one of your 5-10 minute tasks you do each day. Take a few quiet moments to yourself in the early am or evening and close our eyes and see and feel what it will be like when you achieve the goal you are striving for.
Tip #6 : Find support. A friend or partner that has similar interests goals in mind. As again when things get tough and lonely you need that support and someone to cheer you on and bounce ideas off one another. As well know i’m here to give you support. As I tend to have free groups running from time to time. ( Reach out if so ) If its something I can’t directly help you with I might just be able to guide you in the right direction.
Cheers to your success !
